Houseboat progress

3/17--The hull is bottom painted and ready for the flippin' party.

All of the appendages have been installed using bolts and 3m's 5200 marine adhesive/sealer. I added a rub strip (top photo) that the plans did not call for as a hull stiffener, it adds to the barge look.

The first layer of glass was layed on Feb. 3rd. The temperature was lower than I had hoped so the dry time is taking longer. I plan to sand the hull Thursday.

Time for an update. All of the stringers are built, the sides are planked, puttied and sanded. The next step is glassing the sides and then forming the hull. I should have the hull planked in the next couple of weeks.

Here is a pic of the 2 sides planked and sanded ready for glassing. The stringers are not set in place yet. I thought I would glass the sides when they are flat as opposed to glassing them when they are on their sides.

Standup Paddling

Along with outrigger paddling I love to SUP. My board is an old Rat windsurfer board and works fine. I plan to upgrade to a Hamilton board some day. The phototo the left is me paddling on Capital Lake on Thanksgiving 2007. It was 41 degrees and sunny.

I have become an avid OC-1 paddler in the Puget Sound area, mainly Olympia. My boat is a Stingray from Outrigger Connection, and my paddle of choice is a hybrid from C-4. I get out at least twice a week for at least an hour each time. I will keep you posted on my paddling exploits.
